September Image of the Month
The topic for this months image of the month was “Long Exposure”.
Congratulations to this months winner, Alex.
The winning entry is featured below along with a brief insight from Alex immediately after the image.
I took this picture on a beautiful sunny September day in the Birr Castle Gardens. I’ve seen many pictures of the great telescope, but never as a long exposure. And because the clouds were moving pretty fast that day I decided to give it a go.
I set up my camera with all the equipment you need for a shot like this (tripod, remote, filters) and took a few shots. They were all good looking in colour, but this one was the only one I thought would be better looking in black + white (because of the big blurred cloud). I used an infrared converter. Thats the reason the sky looks so dark and the foilage so white.
All in all, I’m very happy with this picture and I’m proud to win the club competition!
And a big thanks to my girlfriend for patiently waiting that day 🙂
